OVERVIEW
The Growing Strong Colorado Families Work Team is based on the following philosophy: Parents are the child’s first teacher. Parents are the primary source of socialization for their children. Parenting attitudes knowledge, skill and behaviors can be positively influenced by parent education efforts. Parenting is a learned skill that can be strengthened through study and experience. The goal of parent education is strengthening and educating the parent/caregiver so that he/she is better able to facilitate the development of caring, competent, connected, confident, and healthy children.

Connecting youth and their families with the tools and resources needed for success.
WORK TEAM OBJECTIVES
Developing a centralized data base of existing programs that are strengthening youth through families and presenting information on these programs at forums and conferences. Expanding the number of families reached with effective programs which include providing 4-H agent training, increasing awareness of existing programs, TA for local assessment, and developing community partners. Identifying a minimum standardized method for evaluation and reporting to assist counties in expanding their efforts.
