To Propose a bulletin
- Extension funds the production and printing of bulletins and therefore requires an author to obtain prior approval by filling out a Publications and Manuscript Approval form (PRAMA) before writing the publication.
- Fill out "Step 1: Request" on the PRAMA form and the bulletin information in the "Bulletin" column of the PRAMA.
- Under "Review" on the PRAMA, choose three reviewers and forward the PRAMA form to either a department head or regional Extension director.
- The department head or regional Extension director) signs the form and routes the form to the Extension publications specialist, Debby Weitzel, 371 Aylesworth SW, who signs and routes the form to the Extension associate director of programs.
- The associate director of programs reviews the PRAMA, signs and returns the approved PRAMA back to the author to begin writing the manuscript.

Review Process
- Filling out review form. Once the manuscript is written, fill out a Manuscript Review Form.
- Kind of review. If the manuscript does not contain original research, check "A" for the "Kind of Review" and send a copy of the review form and manuscript to each reviewer. If the manuscript contains original research(requiring a peer review) check "B" and send four copies of the manuscript and form to the department head/technical editor, who will assign the reviewers and forward the manscripts and forms to each reviewer.
- Reviewers' comments. For "A" review, the author incorporates reviewers comments into the final manuscript. For "B" review, the department head/technical editor determines which comments should be incorporated and returns the reviewer's copies back to the author.
- Preparing final manuscript. When reviewers' comments are returned to the author, the author incorporates the comments into the final manuscript and sends the final manuscript, a completed PRAMA, copies of the review form, and photos and/or slides to Debby Weitzel, Extension publications specialist, 371 Aylesworth SW.
- Preferred formats for manuscripts:
Text: Word Perfect or Word
