Colorado State University Extension - Understanding Biotechnology Issues
Agricultural biotechnology has the potential to increase the quality and quantity of the world's food supply, and to reduce the use of chemical inputs in agriculture. However, with concerns being raised about potential risks of the technology, increased public knowledge of the benefits and risks of biotechnology-derived products is needed to allow producers, consumers and policy makers to make informed decisions. The goal of the Understanding Biotechnology Issues team is to support Extension outreach and education activities state-wide that increase public understanding of the risks and benefits of agricultural biotechnology.
