The National Center for Home Food Preservation from the University of Georgia. This is a source for current research-based recommendations for most methods of home food preservation. The Center was established with funding from the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (CSREES-USDA) to address food safety concerns for those who practice and teach home food preservation and processing methods.

Many state Extension Web sites have food safety publications available online.

Organizations

American Dietetic Association and National Center for Nutrition and Dietetics has resources, updates on legislation and public policy, daily tips.

Compliance Control Center is devoted to information on the importance of handwashing.

International Food Information Council - This nonprofit organization was established to provide sound, scientific information on food safety and nutrition to journalists, health professionals, educators, government officials and consumers. It offers backgrounders, reports, Q&A on foodborne illnesses, pesticides, sweeteners, nutrition and health, allergies, and more. There is also an extensive list of government agencies, agriculture and food industry organizations.
