September is National Food Safety Education Month and the theme this year is: "Be Smart, Keep Foods Apart; Don't Cross-Contaminate!" This is a good time to conduct training and awareness programs to promote safe food handling and preparation for retail, industry and the consumer. The consumer education planning guide will be in kit format, filled with resources to plan your events. The kits will be distributed to Extension agents and other educators by the end of July.
