Food Safety Especially Important in the Summer
Cases of foodborne illness increase in the summer for two reasons. First, most foodborne bacteria thrive and reproduce quickly at temperatures from 90º - 110ºF. Second, warmer weather is more conducive to outside activities such as picnics and barbecues than is colder weather.
