This is an exciting time for everyone in nutrition education with the recent release of the new graphic that illustrates the Dietary Guidelines. This issue of HHB will get you ready to explore the MyPyramid and explore the various websites and resources ready for your use. Be sure to go to the consumer and professional materials and investigate where your clients can access a computer to develop their own personal pyramid.

The slogan "Steps to a Healthier You" strives to provide personal guidance by the 12 pyramids offered online. Check out the sites noted in the article.

The American Heart Association released its first-ever weight-loss book June 9, 2005. The No-Fad Diet: A Personal Plan for Healthy Weight Loss will be published by Random House and will be available at a suggested retail price of $24.95 from booksellers everywhere.

No-Fad Diet The No-Fad Diet: A Personal Plan for Healthy Weight Loss provides science-based information about weight loss and weight maintenance in an easy-to-understand way. It is one of the cornerstones of the AHA obesity initiative.

This book focuses on three core elements for successful weight loss:

  • Think Smart helps readers change their mindset to change their habits
  • Eat Well offers strategies for eating healthfully and reducing calorie intake,
  • Move More presents ways for people to increase their activity level to suit their lifestyle.
