- Can’t get enough tomatoes? Save the rest of your tomatoes before the frost gets them by pulling the whole plant from the ground (root included) and hang from the rafters in a protected place. Tomatoes will continue to ripen and you may have them until November.
- Drying foods is a great way to preserve veggies and fruits and save space. You can use a dehydrator, an open air dryer, oven or other methods as long as there is adequate space between veggies and a source of air and low heat.
- Now is a great time to take stock of what did well in your garden and what did not. What veggies did well? How did you like the taste of a particular veggie? Do you need more color in your landscape? Fall is a good time for bargains at the nurseries. Look for hardy perennials that have great fall blooming foliage and flowers.
