- If you’d prefer not to mulch leaves into your lawn, attach your bagger and mow after leaves have fallen to get a great carbon/ nitrogen mix for mulching your beds. The mulch is ground up ready to be spread on top of the soil or dug in.
- Not enough mulch for your garden? Sow living mulch with annual buckwheat or other cover crops. Densely planted, it shades out weeds and adds nutrients to the soil when tilled in.
- Skip the compost pile and dig in those kitchen scraps right into the garden to improve soil. How? Dig a hole 12” deep, put in the scraps (no proteins), cover with soil and water well. Dig a hole next to it for the next bucket of scraps. You will enrich your garden and get rid of waste without using the garbage disposal.
