  • Don’t throw out those foam mattress pads. Recycle them into covered knee pads that can be used when working in the garden. If you have a kneeling pad or bench that has worn out, cut the pad to fit the space. Cover the pad with the leg of an old pair of jeans. Cut the leg long enough to fold under on both sides and slip the pad into the jean leg. Slip the covered pad into the empty bench space. (No sewing required!)
     
  • To refreshed rocks in the garden, put them into a colander then place in a large tub. Swish water around the rocks until dirt and debris disappear. Rinse with a garden hose. Place your newly washed rocks around the garden.
