LITTLETON, Colo. Families are invited to attend this year's Arapahoe County 4-H Fall Fest from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, 25690 E. Quincy Ave, Aurora (just east of E-470).
Children, ages 5-18, will enjoy an afternoon getting up close and personal with farm animals and horses, playing chef with culinary activities, and taking notes at the horsemanship skills workshop conducted by Rich Scott, Vision of Unity Horsemanship. Attendance is FREE and there will be door prizes and refreshments.
"4-H creates a supportive environment where youth are able to reach their fullest potential," said Larry Hooker, 4-H Extension Agent. "Our Fall Fest invites families from all over Arapahoe County to experience the fun and excitement of 4-H and perhaps learn something new."
4-H caters to both urban and rural families and with a plethora of projects to choose from, there’s something for everyone. The program's goal is to assist parents in raising children who are healthy, successful adults by partnering with volunteer leaders who organize and conduct hands-on educational experiences.
Whether it's raising animals, clothing design, nutrition or model rockets, youth participating in 4-H learn valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership and the value of communication.
Sample the fun at the 4-H Fall Fest and take the opportunity to speak with leaders or members about their projects to learn more. For more information, contact Larry Hooker at 303-738-7940 or visit www.arapahoeextension.org.
