Logos

These pages contain Colorado State University Extension logos intended to be used without further editing (except sizing). Please do not alter these files. For a logo file format not provided here, please contact Joanne Littlefield at (970) 491-4640 or joanne.littlefield@colostate.edu.

The files designated ‘Microsoft Office’ can be placed into Microsoft Office documents; however, the ai files (for Adobe Creative Suite, below) cannot be easily used by most common Microsoft Office products.

After downloading to your computer, you will then insert the file into the appropriate place in your document (do NOT copy and paste).

When RESIZING the logos in your document, hold down the shift key to constrain the image proportions.

Logos for use in Microsoft Office Programs
For projects to be printed from desktop printers utilizing Microsoft products such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint, use jpg or png files. Jpg and png files are bitmap images made up of tiny boxes, which cannot be enlarged without compromising reproduction quality: jagged edges will be noticable around these enlarged graphics (pixellation).

Jpg and png files can be reduced in size without a loss of quality. The files are sized in such a way that reproduction quality should not be an issue for most office applications. They should be inserted into documents as a photo would be. The jpg and png files are in the RGB format.

Logos for use in Adobe Creative Suite Programs (Commercial Printing)
For projects to be printed by a commercial printer (offset or digital printing) use the ai files, which are vector based and can be enlarged or reduced infinitely without compromising clarity or reproduction quality. Our logos are all ai files to preserve the gradation in the ‘swoosh’ and are best suited for use with software such as Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite programs. These ai files are not easily imported or used in MS Word or MS Publisher. They are in the CMYK format, which is meant for printing (print projects almost always need to be in the CMYK format).

Web Projects
Use jpg or png files, but at a lower resolution (72 dpi) than used for desktop printing. Graphics are in RGB format.
