Photographic Collections


The Archives and Special Collections Department at the CSU library collects, preserves, and provides access to rare books, manuscripts, and the records of Colorado State University in order to support research and scholarship. The materials, many of which are housed on the second floor of the Morgan Library on the CSU main campus, include over 10,000 rare books and hundreds of boxes, shelves and drawers of collections of primary resource materials donated by individuals and organizations.

Colorado Agriculture Archive pictures

The Colorado Agricultural Archive supports efforts to acquire, preserve, and promote the use of records that enhance understanding of Colorado's agrarian heritage. Originally created in 1980, the Archive has become part of the Colorado State University Libraries Archives and Special Collections Department.

Holdings include the inactive files of more than twenty Colorado agricultural organizations, as well as records of the Colorado State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Colorado Extension. Primary materials available for research in the Archive collections include meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, fiscal records, oral history recordings and photographic images.

The Colorado's Waters Digital Archive is a collection of digital objects Colorado's Water Digital Archivedocumenting the history of Colorado's water resources. Current selections focus on the Colorado, Platte, and Rio Grande river basins and feature studies on water resources development and water supply.


Warren and Genevieve Garst Photographic CollectionThe Warren and Genevieve Garst Photographic Collection includes over 1,300 digitized wildlife slides photographed over a period of 25 years.
