User Fee Update

User Fee Update Chart The user fee program established financial targets for all local Extension offices throughout the state. The original targets set for 2006-07 were $400,000 minimum and $550,000 desired. That has been revised to a $275,000 expected contribution to CSU and $550,000 desired. The revenues for 2006-07 through September reached $36,300. Elbert and Jefferson counties were recognized at the Annual Forum banquet on September 21, 2006, for attaining the user fee desired level.

With the increased emphasis in Extension on alternative revenue sources, we will include successful contract and grant awards. Following is a listing of our newly awarded contracts and grants in June. The amounts awarded list the direct costs.

Extension Agent (EFNEP Educator)
The position is under review.

Douglas County
Extension Agent, Horticulture
Jennifer Bousselot resigned effective September 20, 2006. This fully county-funded and administered position has been advertised with interviews scheduled for October 17, 2006.

Golden Plains Area
Area Extension Agent (Livestock) #21-06
The position will be readvertised due to an insufficient pool.

Jefferson County
Extension Agent (4-H and Youth Development) #25-06
The position is being advertised with an application deadline of October 10, 2006. Interviews are scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2006.

Extension Agent (Horticulture) #22-06
Interviews are scheduled for November 7 and 8, 2006.

Larimer County
Extension Agent (Food Stamp Nutrition Education (FSNE) 50%)
Nora Garza accepted the position as a non-student hourly employee effective October 2, 2006. Nora is a registered dietician with a B.S. in Chemistry/Biology from the University of Texas - Pan American and a M.S. in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University. Nora also works for the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Logan County
4-H Youth Livestock Coordinator
Interviews for this county-funded, county hired position were held October 4, 2006.

Weld County
Extension Agent (Livestock) #23-06
Interviews are scheduled for October 26 and 27, 2006.

Northern Region
Agriculture and Business Management Specialist #24-06
The search committee is reviewing applications. Interviews are scheduled for November 13 and 15, 2006.

SOUTHERN REGION - Joel Plath

Extension Agent (Range Management) #17-06
Marvin Reynolds, San Luis Valley Director/Livestock Agent, will transfer into the position effective October 16, 2006. Marvin has worked with Colorado State University Extension since 1996.

Southeast Area - Baca County
